New Information and Guidance Sessions at Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre

At Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre (CRMC), as part of the Integrate Coventry project, we offer Information and Guidance (IAG) sessions to help our clients integrate into the community, and understand how to handle day-to-day life in the UK. The sessions explore topics such as housing, education, mental health, and financial management.

Here is our latest schedule of IAG sessions:

Our recent ‘Utilities and Bills’, session focused on what systems our clients will need to navigate to ensure they can effectively manage their home, and live in a financially responsible way.

Covering everything from rent to council tax, TV licences and debt, the session was an opportunity for our clients to understand more about life in the UK, build their knowledge of English, and find out where they could get support and advice if needed.

Angela Schuster, an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher at CRMC, led the session. She said:

“Teaching the basics of life in the UK, alongside teaching ESOL classes, is a really important part of our students’ integration into the community. Having these sessions allows our students to ask questions, meet other people living in Coventry, and practice their English. It also gives them the foundations to start to rebuild their lives and live independently.”
