What We Provide

VAC provides one to one support for people with leave to remain to look at volunteering as a way to develop their skills and confidence, gain experience and have a reference to put on job applications. We also provide 6 – 8-week training workshops that enable people to explore confidence and communication, as well as identify and develop longer term goals and aspirations. These skills are valuable to people who want to volunteer, but also for those seeking employment, or making positive steps in their lives.
We also contribute to Integrate Coventry by connecting with voluntary organisations, enabling them to develop and put helpful measures in place to offer positive volunteering opportunities to refugees. We have a workshop for voluntary organisations to help them develop processes and understand some of the issues affecting refugees in the City.

What We Provide

We are delighted that Foleshill Women’s Training (FWT) are working with Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre (CRMC) in partnership with Volunteer Action Coventry (VAC), Belgrade Theatre and City of Culture on a 2 year AMIF funded ‘Integrate Coventry’ project.

The aim of the project is to help integrate refugees and other third country nationals rebuild their lives in safety, becoming fully self-sufficient and establish themselves within the wider community in Coventry.

FWT will be supporting the women only aspect of this programme offering a holistic approach to working with vulnerable clients that may be struggling to integrate with the wider community.  Support will be offered from our women only centre in Foleshill, through community venues citywide, and through online provision.

FWT will support women to address issues and concerns they experience, and our women only team will enable them to overcome issues moving forward. Our support will include advice and guidance, online ESOL, social groups, confidence building. volunteering and employment.

We will also connect women to opportunities on the Enrichment Programme such as attending social groups. FWT will be leading on the women’s social group.

We will link in with existing FWT projects and partners and liaise with other agencies where needed to get the best outcomes for our clients.
